City of Alcoa Water: Over 50 Years of Service

In January 2010, the City of Alcoa’s water treatment and distribution system celebrated 50 years of service to the citizens of Alcoa and Blount County. It has grown from its 1914 beginnings of a one-day supply tank of spring water treated with chlorine gas to an ultra modern, multi-million gallon-per-day facility drawing water from its Little River raw water source.
