The Alcoa Police Department (APD) offers a number of programs and services for the benefit of the Alcoa community. Take the time to review the programs and use them in the future. Please contact APD with comments on their programs or suggestions for new ones.
Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate
Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (ALICE) Training prepares
individuals to handle the threat of an Active Shooter. ALICE Training
teaches individuals to participate in their own survival, while leading
others to safety. Though no one can guarantee success in this type of
situation, this new set of skills will greatly increase the odds of
survival should anyone face this form of disaster.
Car Seat Installation Checks
The safety of our little travelers is of utmost importance. The Alcoa Police Department will check the safety and installation of car seats. This is a free service! Please call the department to schedule an appointment.
Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program has been in place at Alcoa Police Department since 1996. School Resource Officer George Parker researched this program, and then proposed its implementation to the department. Officer Parker is credited for the success of the department's DARE Program.
The Alcoa Police Department is proud to offer a broad array of programs to the community. A brief list of just a few of the program topics:
Drugs and Alcohol
Just give us a call to set up your program.
School Lunch Program
To foster a positive relationship between students and Alcoa police officers, the school lunch program allows the dayshift officers to eat lunch with the students in the Alcoa City Schools. This program does not to promote security but strengthens the student-officer relationship.
If a citizen leaves their residence for vacation, department personnel will conduct frequent security checks of that home. Simply call the Alcoa Police Department to arrange for this service.
Other Community Events
The following is a partial list of the events that the Alcoa Police Department supports and participates in every year:
