JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Alcoa Planning Department is accepting applications for Assistant City Planner.  This is an administrative position under the supervision of the City Planner with the primary responsibility of professional planning and administrative work related to city planning activities.

Ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, detailed–oriented individual with a strong knowledge of all phases of Planning.  Duties include but are not limited to assisting in the review and evaluation of land use applications, project designs, plans and technical documents for compliance with City standards and regulatory requirements. Assists in developing and implementing comprehensive land use plan, and its related planning components (i.e., maps), and updating the City’s zoning and subdivision regulations. 

Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning or closely related field and two years experience in current planning principles and practices.  Annual salary min. $41,544.95 (DOE).
