Louisville Road Closures Begin April 18th

The City of Alcoa will be continuing the installation of curb and gutter along Louisville Road as part of the current sidewalk addition project. Some sections of the curb and gutter, as well as sidewalks, have already been completed while working through minor traffic detours. The remaining sections of curb and gutter will require some assistance and patience from local residents and motorists. In order to safely and quickly install the remaining sections of curb, the City of Alcoa will close Louisville Road to southbound traffic between North Linden Dr. and the Walmart traffic signal during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday until construction is complete. Normal traffic routes will reopen during non-working hours, during inclement weather or in the event other work commitments take precedence over this project. The closure is in the direction traveling southbound toward Wal-Mart and Alcoa Highway Motorists wishing to drive this direction will instead use Louisville Rd. to W. Hunt Rd., W. Hunt Rd. to Alcoa Hwy., and then travel southbound on Alcoa Hwy. to Louisville Rd. Residents and businesses in the construction area will also need to use this traffic pattern. As this is a new traffic pattern, motorists are encouraged to allow extra time when traveling to and from their residences during construction hours.

Closures are expected to begin on April 18th with a completion date of May 26th. Thank you for your patience while crews work to improve city neighborhoods and streets.
