Beer PermitsBeer permit applications may be obtained from the finance department by mail or you can print the Adobe Acrobat document by clicking here. There is a $250 non-refundable application fee and the application process can be lengthy so interested applicants should apply well in advance before they open or buy a business. The City of Alcoa does not issue temporary permits. New applicants must pay the application fee in person as well as present their completed beer permit application in person to be validated. There is a $100 annual beer privilege tax which, upon approval, is prorated during your first year. Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for processing all payments and applications. The City of Alcoa Beer Board includes the City Manager, the City Recorder, and one member appointed by the mayor who shall serve a three (3) year term. Beer applications are considered during Beer Board meetings as needed. Liquor-by-the-Drink License Liquor-by-the-drink licenses are issued by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC). Driving directions from the City of Alcoa Municipal Building to the Knoxville ABC: Take Hwy 129 to Pellissippi Pkwy. Go down Pellissippi Pkwy to 1-40 East. From I-40 East, take the Papermill Road Exit 383. Stay strait onto Northshore Drive to first traffic light. Turn right on Baum Drive. Take a left on Nancy Lynn Lane.
