Steve Hillis, Support Services Manager, leads the seven industrious employees that compose the Support Services Division of the Public Works & Engineering Department. This division is responsible for citywide purchasing, warehousing, fleet, and building maintenance services. Their operations are critical to the success of all departments in the City. The purchasing functions extend outside Alcoa as opportunities are constantly evaluated to partner with other local governments on purchases of common commodities and goods such as water treatment chemicals, deicing salt, vehicles, and other materials and equipment. This division works hand-in-hand with other PW&E divisions and other City departments on a variety of projects including the annual Christmas decorations at the Alcoa Municipal Building and specialized projects such as installation of the Alcoa High School football scoreboard.
