The Sanitation Services Division is led by Bruce Curtis and is responsible for all solid waste and recycling collection in Alcoa. Their crews also maintain the grounds around all City buildings, maintain the City’s greenway trails, and keep street right-of-ways cleaned and mowed. A total of 20 employees work out of the Sanitation office located at 1024 Springbrook Road. Solid waste collection is provided yearlong with collections adjusted only for the New Years, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays.
General Information –
- Bag leaves except during fall and spring leaf collections
- Grass clippings must be bagged or placed in the roll out cart with garbage.
- An additional roll out cart may be purchased for $45. Contact the City’s Sanitation Services (865-380-4815) or Customer Service (865-380-4700).
- All waste must be placed behind the curb / edge of pavement. If the slope of property is too steep, then items should be placed at edge of asphalt and call the Sanitation office for pickup.
- Do not place brush or bulky waste in the street.
