Personal Accomplishments
A resident of Alcoa for 50 years, Commissioner Ken White is a 1956 graduate of Everett High School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee. He has 36 hours of post graduate work in mathematics from Emory University in Atlanta and at the University of Tennessee, and earned additional professional development credits while at Alcoa, Inc.

White was a science and math teacher in Missouri for two years before returning to Alcoa where he taught math for 4 years at Alcoa High School. In 1967, he began a career at Alcoa, Inc. where he held the positions of an Application Programmer, Systems Analyst, Database Administrator, and Computer Systems Engineer. He retired from Alcoa, Inc. in 1996.

He has served on various recreation and education committees including the City of Alcoa Recreation Committee, Little League, various professional organizations, and Explorer Scouts in Computer Science. He currently serves on Board of Directors for the Blount County Community Action Agency.

White is the father of three daughters, one son and grandfather to 9 grandchildren. He and his wife, Jo Anne, are active members of First Baptist Church of Alcoa.
