Business Licenses

The City of Alcoa has adopted the State of Tennessee Business Act. This requires anyone planning to open a business within the city limits with a gross income of more that $3,000 to obtain a City Business License.

Applications for new business licenses can be picked up at the front counter of the City Municipal Building or downloaded in an Adobe Acrobat document by clicking here. Upon receipt of your completed application, we will collect a fee of $20.00 and issue you a business license. Please allow at least 1 week for processing all fees and applications. Note: Business will be classified and numbered when processed by the City of Alcoa.

Business licenses are renewed annually, with a percentage of your gross receipts to be paid along with the renewal fee. Renewal dates and percentage rates are determined by the type of business you will be conducting (See Business Classifications). Since license renewals are determined on a case by case basis, all renewal forms and fees must be completed and paid in person or by mail at this time.
