CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The City of Alcoa is accepting applications for a Codes Enforcement Officer. The employee in this class is responsible for enforcement of various City codes related to building, development, and sections of the municipal code pertaining to but not limited to Chapter 8, health and sanitation, public sewers, overgrown lots, public nuisances and abandoned vehicles. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Performs inspections of commercial, industrial and residential buildings, both new and existing, for code compliance under the currently adopted City codes
· Responds to complaints of potential code violations
· Assists with checks to all buildings, new and existing, in the City of Alcoa
Minimum requirements include HS Diploma / GED and certification by the State of Tennessee and International Code Council as a building inspector. Successful applicant will be submitted to background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen. Starting salary $31, 428.80 DOE.
