Streets & Drainage Projects
- Phase II Stormwater Compliance - Mandates from Federal EPA and Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (TDEC)
- Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination - Revising City ordinance to comply with last TDEC audit.
- Construction Site Storm Water Runoff Control - Revising City ordinance to comply with last TDEC audit.
- Post-Construction Storm Water Management
- Buffer Ordinance - Draft ordinance for streamside buffers is being reviewed internally by City staff. Goal is to present the ordinance to the Board of Commissioners (BOC) at their January 2008 and February 2008 meetings.
- Post-Construction Ordinance & Manual - Preparing Alcoa ordinance and manual utilizing info from Metro Nashville & Knox County manuals. Goals: BOC review in Jan & Feb 2008.
- Pollution Prevention / Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations - Developing manual for regularly scheduled training of City employees.
- Stormwater Utility - Options for funding of stormwater compliance are either tax rate or a separate utility. Utility option is being pursued.
- TMDL Development (Total Max. Daily Loads of stream pollutants) - Monitoring plan approved by TDEC.
- Pellissippi Pkwy Extension - OK Hwy to US 321 - Per July 2007 Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) meeting, right-of-way acquisition in 2010.
- Alcoa Hwy Improvements - Pellissippi Pkwy to County Line - Per July 2007 TPO meeting, right-of-way acquisition in 2010.
- Alcoa Parkway - Per July 2007 TPO meeting, right-of-way acquisition in 2010.
- Sam Houston School Rd Intersection Improvements - Initial Consultant: Kimley Horn.
- Geometric Improvements - Complete.
- Signal Improvements - Holley Electric. Work underway.
- Alcoa Hwy / Wright Rd Intersection Improvements - Learned from TDOT off additional requirements w.r.t. right-of-way certification, utilities, etc.
- Alcoa/Maryville Traffic Signal Coordination & Communication Improvements - Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Master Plan - Consultant: Kimley-Horn Associates. CMAQ funding application made to TPO; $126k included in TPO's FY 2008 work plan.
- Topside Rd Corridor Traffic Study
- Phase 2 - Widening of Topside Rd - Contractor: Harrison Construction. Widening to begin 1/15/08. Water line relocation by City to be completed 12/07.
- Middlesettlements Rd Improvements - Complete right-of-way acquisitions Fall 2008. Bid Fall/Winter 2008; start const early 2009; complete const late 2010 / early 2011.
- Old Knoxville Hwy / Pellissippi Pkwy Traffic Signal Improvements - Warrants approved by TDOT. Gresham Smith & Partners involved as TDOT liaison. TDOT has committed to proceed with design & installation.
- Hall Rd / CSX Crossing Repairs - Started Spring 2007 by CSX; left unfinished. Street Supervisor to make weekly calls to CSX until finished.
Water & Wastewater Projects
- WTP Membrane Filters, Lab Bldg, & Appurtenances - Complete. Minor punch list items remain.
- WTP Demolition - Contractor: Southern Constructors / Total Demolition Services. Underway.
- WTP Lagoon No. 2 - Low Bidder: WBS, Inc.Fencing Contract - Include as separate contract in Service Center fencing bid.
- WTP Auxiliary Raw Water Intake - Cooperative project with City of Maryville.
- Phase 1 - Temporary Installation - Morgan Contracting. Temporary pumps & line installed and operating. Acquiring easements for permanent installation of line.
- Phase 2 - Permanent Installation of Raw Water Line - Specifics being prepared. Target installation to begin 3/01/08 with Martin Mill Pk closure week of 3/17.
- Alcoa / Maryville Water Systems Development, Expansion & Interoperation - RFQ issued. Pre-submittal conference 12/20/07. Statements of Qualification due 1/08/08.
- Wildwood / Rockford Area, Phase 2B: Little River to Stock Ck. - Consultant: Vision Engineering. Contractor: Mike Smith Pump. Complete. 1st as-builts received. Contractor replacing curbing at Littlebrook S/D.
- Springfield Br Sanitary Sewer Improvements - Consultant: Sterling. Contractor: Garney Construction. Complete except for paving, minor punch list items, and stabilization.
- Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (RWWTP) Expansion - RWWTP jointly owned by Alcoa and Maryville; operated and managed by Maryville. Consultant: JR Wauford & Co.
- Expansion plans 95% complete.
- RWWTP Utility Relocations - 12" W.L.; Island Home Force Main Relocation of Alcoa lines to accommodate expansion of RWWTP.
- Middlesettlements Rd - 1200 Block San Sewer Ext - Complete. Need as-builts.
- Nean Lane Tank Site Abandonment - Initial title research completed by City Attorney. Survey complete by Sterling. Will likely maintain ownership but short-term lease to adjoining property owners. Iron pins to be concreted by Engineering staff.
- W. Bell St San Sewer Rehab / Ext. - Low pressure sewer line installed.
- US 129 / Louisville Rd 12-in WL Ext. - Extension to improve Hamilton Crossing fire flow. Underway.
- Goddard St San Sewer Rehab Carroll & Ross - Leadworker: Ogle. On hold for gas line relocation.
- Air Base Rd / Air Base Entrance WL Relocation - TANG-funded project. C2RL, Inc. design meetings complete.
- Middlesettlements Rd WL Relocation - Hunters Crossing to Mt Tabor - Consultant: Barge Wagonner Sumner & Cannon.
- Airport Operations - Sanitary Sewer Rehab - Replace exist sanitary sewer along SW corner of MKAA property. Underway.
- Topside Rd / Marriott Dr Water Line Relocation - Relocate & upgrade water line on Topside Rd between Marriott Dr and Lark Cir. Materials delivered. To be completed prior to Christmas.
- McGhee Tyson Airport San Sewer Rehab - Study of rehab needs by MKAA of airport's sanitary sewer system. Engineering assistance provided by C2RL.
Greenways/Sidewalks/Parks Projects
- Pistol Ck Greenway Phase III – Springbrook Rd to Meadowwood Apts. - On hold until approval received for Culton Ck Greenway.
- Culton Ck Greenway, Phase I – SCC to St Ives, Phase II - SCC to Greenmeadow, Phase III - Greanmeadow to Andover. - Louisville Rd sidewalk approved. Proceeding with design, environmental reviews, etc.
- Environmental Reviews / Permits
- ARAP Permit - Permit received.
- TDEC General Permit - Permit received.
- Corps of Engineers Permit - Permit received.
- CSX Permit - CSX comments received. Completing detailed design.
- Native American Review - Final review before CE.
- TDOT Categorical Exclusion - Awaiting issuance - no work may progress without CEEasement Acquisition - Stake & review with owners. Title info forwarded to City Attorney. Per TDOT property acquisition procedures, cannot make contact without CE.
- Design & Construction - Will begin construction after (1) categorical exclusion received from State and (2) completion of easement acquisitions.
- Greenway, Pistol Ck Phase IV - Meadowood to Alcoa Trail - Grant approved by TDOT. Met w/ Alcoa, Inc. and TDEC staff regarding routing to avoid / minimize environmental concerns.
- Greenway Bridge - US 129 Bypass - A&E: Wilbur Smith Associates & Ross/Fowler Architects. 95% plans review complete.

- Slope Repairs - Class III/IV South Slope - Holloway. Consultant: Lukens Engineering. Plans received by LF staff. Evaluating bid or in-house construction.
- Alcoa, Inc. Methane Recovery Project. - Initial data collection by Alcoa, Inc.
- Denso / Hodge Engineering Methane Recovery Project - Summary meeting held with Denso and Hodge staff.

- Base Pointe - Underway.
- Access Rd West Extension - Water, sewer, streets, drainage complete. Site stabilized but "dormant."

- Top Gun Customs - Regal Dr - Underway.
- Lynn's Landing Condos - Red Hill Dr / Hillside Dr - Water & sewer complete.
- Topside Wine & Spirits - Underway.
- Andover Phase 5 - Sharp Contracting. Water & sewer +/- complete. Base stone placed.
