On Friday evening, November 27, 2009 Alcoa Police Department detectives utilized an underage youth to attempt to purchase beer/liquor from local businesses. This investigative technique, referred to as a beer sting, is simply one way utilized to deter businesses from selling alcohol to minors and has been done periodically for many years. In this case, the effort to purchase alcohol was a complete failure as the underage person was declined by every business where the purchase was attempted. The following businesses are congratulated for making our beer sting such a failure:
