The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department announced today the closure of a portion of McArthur Road. The portion of McArthur Road between Fletcher Street and Wright Road will be closed Monday, December 3, 2007 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for necessary repairs to the road surface.

Motorists may bypass the area by following the posted detour signs around the work site. Motorists are also asked to allow a few extra minutes to reach their destination and exercise caution in the construction area. In case of inclement weather, the repairs will be moved to Tuesday, December 4, 2007.
