The City of Alcoa will make no adjustments to the collection of residential solid waste, residential recyclables, or commercial / industrial solid waste for the Good Friday holiday on April 22, 2011. Residents collected on Friday are asked to have their collection cart to the curb Thursday evening or no later than 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. There will be two trucks collecting residential carts with plans to finish all routes by noon. Please note there will be no brush collection on Friday. However, every attempt will be made to collect both Thursday and Friday routes on Thursday. The Landfill will be open with normal operating hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on both Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23.
