01/13/2011    Alcoa Electric Lines Being Trimmed

The City of Alcoa Electric Department announced today that contract crews from ABC Tree Professionals and Seelbach have begun trimming trees along the City’s electric circuits. Work will continue over the next few months until completed by mid June.

Crews are currently trimming trees from electric lines in the Chandler Substation area of Louisville. Areas scheduled for tree trimming include: Little River Mobile Home Park, Bear Hollow, Jones Bend, Fox Hills, Wrights Ferry, New Topside, Rankin Ferry Loop, Devault Lane, Jackson Bend, Louisville Boat Dock Road, Glenn Road, Airbase Road, Mentor Road, Johnston Road, Ridgewood Drive and, Robinson Drive. Electric lines along side roads and other areas in close proximity to those listed will also be trimmed.

If customers or property owners have any questions or concerns contact the City of Alcoa Electric Department at 865-380-4890. It is necessary to periodically trim and remove trees in the vicinity of power lines to protect public safety and help provide dependable electric service. The public’s cooperation is appreciated and travelers are reminded to use caution if in the vicinity of an area that is being trimmed.
