The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department announced that Bell and Associates Construction, contractor for the Greenway Pedestrian Bridge, will be implementing short-term lane closures along the U.S. 129 Bypass during the week.

The closure of one lane of southbound Hwy 129 between Hall Road and Louisville Road will occur from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12th. The closure will start in the right-hand lane and as work progresses, the closure will switch to the left-hand lane.

On Wednesday and Thursday, October 13th and 14th, one northbound lane of Hwy 129 between Louisville Road and Hall Road will close from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Again, the work will close first the right-hand lane and will switch to the left-hand lane as work dictates.

This lane closure is to allow Bell and Associates to hang the electrical conduit and perform other work on the Greenway Pedestrian Bridge in Alcoa.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution while traveling through this work zone.
