The City of Alcoa will make no adjustments to the collection of residential solid waste and recycling for the 4th of July holiday. Residential and commercial routes will be run on schedule. However, brush that is scheduled for pick up on Friday, July 3 will be collected on Thursday, July 2. Brush pick up for the remainder of the week will stay on schedule. The Alcoa/Maryville/Blount County Sanitary Landfill will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in observance of Independence Day. The Landfill will maintain normal operating hours on Friday, July 3. Anyone with questions should call the Landfill at 995-2892 or 995-2998.
