The City of Alcoa Police Department will conduct a wide area saturation patrol (WASP) on Friday, December 19, 2008 from 8:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. Officers will concentrate on removing impaired drivers from the roadways as well as enforcing all moving and non-moving violations with special attention to Alcoa Highway (US 129). Officers will also be watching for aggressive drivers and those violating seatbelt and child restraint laws. This operation is in partnership with the Governor’s Highway Safety Office and our continuing commitment to highway safety during the Holiday Season.
