Due to last week’s inclement weather, the lane closures that were planned for March 10-11 by the cities of Alcoa and Maryville have been rescheduled for March 15-17, 2011. The work is part of an ongoing project between the two cities to coordinate timing of the traffic signals along the commuter corridors. These lane closures are to facilitate the concrete median removal for the ATMS project. The lane closures are as follows:

§ Tuesday, March 15: The inside lanes in both directions of Hall Road at Bessemer Street; Lamar Alexander Parkway at Watkins Road; and Lamar Alexander Parkway at Montvale Road will be closed from 8:00 p.m.– until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. This work will be for concrete demolition and filling of holes.

§ Wednesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 17: The same locations will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for asphalt paving and the installation of signage.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution while traveling through these work zones.
