05/09/2008    FreedomFest 2008 Seeks Vendors

The City of Alcoa announced today that it is taking applications for art and craft vendors to participate in the City’s FreedomFest 2008 celebration. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2008. Activities will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Springbrook Park / Alcoa Duck Pond vicinity culminating at approximately 9:45 p.m. with a spectacular choreographed fireworks display.

Information and applications can be obtained on-line at the City of Alcoa website (www.cityofalcoa-tn.gov) or by calling Special Projects Coordinator Tricia Tipton at 865-380-4787.

Car, motorcycle and tractor devotees are welcome to participate in the FreedomFest 2008 Cruise-In held in the Alcoa First United Methodist Church parking lot from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Motorcyclists may contact Johnny Osborne of Dixie Iron Riders at kf4pch@yahoo.com for more information. Plaques will be awarded by the club in the following categories: Rat Bike, Best Over All, Best Metric, Best Custom, Best Touring and Best Cruiser. Car and tractor enthusiasts may call Mark Ross at 865- 981-4156 for information.
