The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department announced today that Hamilton Crossing Drive at Bessemer Street near K-Mart will be opened to traffic on Monday May 3, 2010.

This intersection will be temporarily configured for a right-in / right-out traffic flow (no left turns onto Hamilton Crossing or Bessemer Street). This temporary configuration is due to continuing road work on Bessemer Street which is associated with the diverging diamond intersection. Within the next few months a traffic signal will be installed at the intersection, allowing full access to and from Bessemer Street.
