09/11/2007    Joint Saturation Patrol Scheduled

The Alcoa and Maryville Police Departments, the Blount County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol will jointly conduct a traffic safety saturation patrol on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Officers will enforce all moving and non-moving violations on city streets and state routes with special attention to Alcoa Highway (US 129), Pellissippi Parkway (I-140), Hunt Road (S.R. 335), Old Knoxville Highway (S.R. 33), Topside Road (S.R. 333) and Lamar Alexander Pkwy (U.S. 321). Officers will pay particular attention to aggressive drivers, speeders, and those violating seatbelt and child restraint laws. This saturation patrol is being conducted as part of our commitment to safe travel on our highways and is funded by a Wide Area Saturation Patrol (WASP) grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
