Commercial Utilities

No site can be developed without utilities, so be sure to confirm whether all the needed utilities (gas, electricity, water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, telecom lines) are easily accessible from your proposed location.

The City of Alcoa offers first-class utilities from its Electric and Public Works Departments. Alcoa offers electric, water, sanitary sewer, and solid waste services to businesses within the Alcoa city limits. In addition, electric service is available to businesses outside the city limits, depending on their location.

Call both the Alcoa Public Works and Engineering and the Alcoa Electric Departments once you have a plan in place for your facility. Public Works and Engineering can help you identify your water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste service needs, while the Electric Department can help determine the service load for your facility. These initial contacts need to be made early in your planning process, well prior to signing up for service and paying any fees.

Public Works and Engineering will need to conduct a site plan review to determine the facility’s service needs. View and download the Site Plan Review Application (PDF).
