Message From the Director


The Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department is a team of professionals dedicated to serving the citizens and utility customers of Alcoa.

The mission of the City of Alcoa's Public Works and Engineering Department is to provide quality services that are responsive to customer needs. Customer satisfaction is achieved through economic responsibility by utilizing our human, financial and natural resources to their greatest potential. Our vision of a quality community will be built on foundations of the past while continuing to improve our services.

Our Offices


The Public Works and Engineering offices are located at 725 Universal Street in the City’s Service Center. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. General inquiries may be made by calling 865-380-4800. After-hours inquiries may be made by calling 865-983-3911.

The Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department is a supporting and active member of the American Public Works Association, American Water Works Association, and the Water Environment Association.
