The ten year-old program is a cooperative effort of the City of Alcoa and the Alcoa Tree Board. These awards are presented to developments within the City, which distinguish themselves in their selection of plant materials, design, maintenance, and such. Recipients have shown their commitment to adding to the city's "Qualify of Life." They differ from other beautification awards in that these are chosen based on "year-round" beauty as opposed to just seasonal color. The selection of hardy plant materials, design and maintenance are always a top consideration in the selection processes.

The City gives awards in the areas of commercial, office, housing, and institutional developments. It looks at both existing and new developments when it makes the award choices.

For more information on the award program, contact the City of Alcoa Planning and Codes Department at 865-380-4730 or by email.
