Fire Marshal Darren Stinnett, who enforces all state and local fire codes involving fire safety and prevention, and reviews all commercial construction plans, staffs the Fire Prevention Office. Marshal Stinnett also inspects all schools, child care facilities and churches yearly to check for life safety violations.
In an effort to better educate the public about fire safety, the City of Alcoa Fire Department will present fire safety programs to any group wishing to increase their knowledge. These programs are available to schools, industries, business community and civic groups.
The fire prevention office will also conduct home fire safety inspections upon request. These inspections are free of charge and available to any resident in the City of Alcoa.
To schedule a free home fire inspection, contact the Fire Prevention Office at 865-380-4998, or email Darren Stinnett.
Smoke detectors are also an important part of the Fire Prevention Office. The City of Alcoa Fire Department will, upon request, inspect and assist any residents with installation of smoke detectors or smoke detector batteries.
