The Alcoa Police Department has had three previous homes; the old Mule Barn on Hall Road in the 1940’s, the old Municipal Building in the 1960’s, and the Joule Street location from 1972 to 2001.
The present facility is a state of the art facility designed by the members of the police department. With approximately 20,000 square feet, it is 5 times larger than the Joule Street location.
In 1972, the department employed 21 employees, today we have 49 working at the Wright Road location.
