The City of Alcoa Fire Department is the agency of city government charged with the responsibility for insuring the city and all departments are prepared to deal with the disasters and emergencies that affect the city and its citizens.
In partnership with Rural / Metro Ambulance Company, the Alcoa Fire Department utilizes a First Responder program to provide medical treatment inside the City of Alcoa.
The City of Alcoa Fire Department (AFD) protects a population of 8,449 citizens covering 14.8 square miles. This is accomplished using two engines, two aerial ladders, and six support vehicles.
Hazmat Teams are personnel specially trained to handle dangerous goods. Dangerous goods include materials that are radioactive, flammable, explosive, corrosive, oxidizing, asphyxiating, bio-hazardous, toxic, pathogenic or allergenic.
