The City of Alcoa Development Services Department cautions residents and travelers of an upcoming road closure near the intersection of Topside Road and McBath Road beginning on Wednesday, October 11. The south side of McBath at Topside will be closed to through traffic during this time. A detour route is in place from Stewart Lane to Wrights Ferry Road to connect back to Topside. This closure will be in place for approximately four weeks, with the road open again when work is completed.
This closure is in coordination with the McBath/Topside Intersection Roadway Improvements Project. On Tuesday, October 10, the contractor will be intermittently stopping traffic to move barrier rails across Topside Road. On October 11 and 12, Topside Road will be down to one lane as the barrier rails are installed.
The Development Services Department warns motorists to take extra caution when traveling through this area as crews will be present and working in the Topside Road right-of-way. Please allow additional travel time if traveling through this area.
A detour map is available for additional information.
