During the weeks of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the following adjustments will be made for residents and commercial customers in the City of Alcoa. Residents are reminded to have garbage carts, brush and bulky waste to the curb by 6:30 a.m.
Residential and Commercial Garbage Collection will be adjusted as follows:
Garbage collection will run one day early Monday, December 18, through Thursday, December 21. Residential routes will run normally on Tuesday, December 26, to Friday, December 29. There will be no commercial pickups on Monday, December 25, or Monday, January 01, 2024.
Residential Recycling will be adjusted as follows:
All routes will run on schedule.
Brush/Bulky Waste and Leaf Collection will be adjusted as follows:
Brush and leaf collections will run one day early beginning Monday, December 18, and run through Thursday, December 21. Bulky waste collection will begin Tuesday, December 26, and run through Thursday, December 28. Friday’s routes will be picked up on Thursday. There will be no leaf collection the week of Christmas.
The Alcoa / Maryville / Blount County Landfill will be closed Monday, December 25, and Monday, January 1, 2024. Aside from those two days, the Landfill will be open under normal operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
