The City of Alcoa is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Financial Operations Analyst. This position performs a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative, and technical accounting and finance functions. Assists with the preparation of annual City budgets, oversees tracking and management of capital assets, including depreciation schedules and asset reporting. Ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Works closely with Payroll, Accounts Payable and Business Office for training on appropriate internal controls and accounting procedures.
Knowledge Requirements
Applicants must have in-depth knowledge of the principles of accounting, be able to analyze and interpret accounting records, and effectively prepare accurate financial and statistical statements and reports. Knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems, GAAFR, GAAP and GASB a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting or finance preferred. Closely related fields in business or public administration will be considered. Three (3) years of responsible accounting or finance work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Municipal Finance Officer certification or the ability to obtain certification within 24 months of employment.
