The City of Alcoa announced today that it was conducting routine transformer maintenance at its Proffitt Springs Substation when, as the load was being transferred to a single transformer, a problem occurred with a buss connector. Unfortunately this resulted in a 15-minute power outage that affected the entire Proffitt Springs service area. The City of Alcoa apologies for the inconvenience this unplanned outage caused its electric customers.
