City of Alcoa Electric Department crews continue to work diligently to restore power to customers affected by Saturday night’s severe windstorms. From a peak of over 10,100 outages, there are currently about 4,500 Alcoa customers without electric service.
Damage was scattered across the system with the greatest concentration being in the West Hunt Rd, Springbrook, Rockford, Wildwood, and Ellejoy areas. Some personnel have worked non-stop since the storm struck. Work will continue around the clock in rotating shifts beginning tonight with the greatest concentration of effort being during the daylight hours.
Assisting in the recovery efforts have been crews from the Alcoa Public Works Department, Service Electric Co., Wolf Tree Experts, and Asplundh Tree Service.
