The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is performing work on the railroad crossing bridge near Liberty Street on and Louisville Road. To perform this work, a section of Louisville Road will be closed. This work is set to start on Thursday, May 8, and reopen on Saturday, May 17. This work is part of the installation of a pedestrian bridge over the railroad as part of the Project Eagle Greenway Project. The two detour routes are shown for both northbound and southbound traffic.
All Northbound Louisville traffic will be rerouted onto West Hunt Road to Alcoa Highway and Pellissippi Parkway to take the Topside Road exit. All Southbound Louisville Road traffic will be rerouted Proffitt Springs Road to Highway 321.
The City of Alcoa will provide updates if this closure changes or opens earlier than expected. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working diligently with TDOT to ensure the project is completed as quickly as possible.
For questions pertaining to this closure, please contact the TDOT at (865) 981-2370.
