09/27/2018 UPDATE: Lily has been found and is safe with the family.

On September 25, 2018 at 6:40 a.m., the City of Alcoa Police and Fire Departments along with AMR Ambulance Service were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash on Sam Houston School Road near Mt. Lebanon Road. The driver of the vehicle, Janice Kay Faubion, age 65, from Louisville, TN, was traveling south on Sam Houston School Road when she apparently lost control of her vehicle causing it to overturn. Faubion died at the scene as a result of her injuries.  Ms. Faubion had a boxer mix named Lilly in the vehicle at the time of the crash that escaped her crate prior to first responder’s arrival.  The crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or locates the missing dog is encouraged to contact the Alcoa Police Department at 865-981-4111.
