The City of Alcoa Electric Department will be conducting maintenance and repairs at the Wildwood Substation this coming weekend. A scheduled power outage will begin at 12:00 a.m. the morning of Sunday, March 8, 2020. This outage is required to remove one of the transformers from service to perform several critical and necessary repairs.
This work is expected to last approximately one hour. The Wildwood Substation feeds the northeastern portion of Alcoa’s electric system that includes Sevierville Road, Wildwood, and Seymour Areas. This work will require the interruption of power to customers in the Wildwood area as well as Sevierville Road, the portion of Seymour served by Alcoa Electric, Ellejoy, Heritage, Oak View and Cold Springs.
City of Alcoa Electric customers are reminded that electric outages can be reported and viewed from their mobile devices through the newly released PowerPal app. In addition to reporting a power outage, customers can sign up to receive notices and updates of power outage events.
