The City of Alcoa Public Works & Engineering Department announced beginning November 3rd through November 6th, the section of the Pistol Creek greenway where the trail begins to parallel Edison Street, near the rail tunnel on Edison Street, will experience temporary closures to accommodate crews cutting trees and underbrush to maintain electric transmission lines.
Beginning November 6th, crews will move to begin their work on Edison Street near the rail tunnel. This work will cause temporary Edison Street lane closures through November 11th. The closures are also for the cutting of trees and underbrush to maintain electric transmission lines in the area.
Local residents in the area should exercise caution while traveling through the construction zone and allow extra travel time to reach their destination along these routes.
