The City of Alcoa’s Finance Department was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. Alcoa’s Finance Department was judged by an impartial panel for recommendation based on the high standards of the GFOA program.
GFOA depicts the high standards of the program as: “demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.” This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition a financial department can receive, and attaining this prestigious award is a significant accomplishment for our government and finance team.
