TDOT contractors have notified the City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department of upcoming work set to start on Tuesday, August 22. TDOT contractors will temporarily close the pedestrian trail at the intersection of Mills Street and E. Hunt Road to upgrade the fencing adjacent to the trail. The work is expected to take two weeks to complete and should reopen by Tuesday, September 5.
During this time, pedestrians need to plan on an alternate route for navigating the greenway and motorists need to allow additional travel time for possible lane closures along Mills Street.
