The City of Alcoa Development Services Department was informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) of an upcoming lane closure and temporary signal installation on Louisville Road beginning next week. This work is done to upgrade and widen the Louisville Road bridge over the CSX railroad.
TDOT contractors will start work after the holiday weekend and begin the road work and lane closures on Louisville Road on Tuesday, May 28. This project will include the installation of temporary signals at the bridge by the end of next week, May 31, that will close the roadway down to one lane until late fall for work to be completed on each side of the bridge.
