During the weeks of Christmas and New Year holidays the following adjustments will be made for residents and commercial customers in the City of Alcoa. Residents are reminded to have garbage carts to curb by 6:30 a.m.
- Residential garbage collections normally scheduled for Wednesday, December 25, will be collected on Thursday, December 26. Residential garbage collections normally scheduled for Wednesday, January 1, will be collected Thursday, January 2. There will be no commercial pickups on Wednesday, December 25, or Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
- For the week of Christmas, bulky waste will be picked up Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Brush Collection will begin Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
- Recycling scheduled for Wednesday, December 25, will be collected on Thursday, December 26. Recycling scheduled for Friday, December 27, will be collected on Saturday, December 28. For New Years week, recycling routes will run normal per calendar.
- The Alcoa / Maryville / Blount County Landfill will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, and Wednesday, January 1. All other business days will maintain regular operating hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. Please call 995-2892 or 995-2998 for questions concerning the Landfill operations.
