CSX Transportation is performing work on the railroad crossing near the intersection of Alcoa Highway and Louisville Road. To perform this work, all Northbound lanes of Alcoa Highway from the Intersection of Louisville Road to the Hunt Road Interchange will be closed. This work is set to start on Friday, May 2, at 9:00 p.m. and is planned to be completed no later than 6:00 a.m. Monday, May 5.
A detour route is in place for this closure. All Northbound traffic will be rerouted onto Louisville Road, with motorists able to return to the highway via the West Hunt Road Interchange. The City of Alcoa has coordinated with MACTO to increase the length of the left turn light at the Alcoa Highway and Louisville Road intersection to allow for more traffic to flow onto Louisville Road while this work is being done.
The City of Alcoa will provide updates if this closure changes or opens earlier than expected.
