[ARCHIVED] Alcoa Electric Reports Storm Power Outages - Update- 5:30 p.m., Mon., May 29, 2017

Storm Outage Update - 5:30 a .m.

The City of Alcoa electric repair and restoration work has continued throughout the day. With the addition of a three-person crew from Clinton Utilities Board and the continued assistance of Service Electric, Wolf Tree, and Asplundh, the outages have been cut to about 800.

Unfortunately the online outage map is not correctly indicating the outage areas and reduction in outages. The vendor that provides this service has been contacted to correct this problem.

Customers are also reminded to update the telephone number that’s on file with their account. With the trend by many to eliminate "land lines" and rely solely on cell phones, many telephone numbers are out date. A correct telephone number is critical for customer identification by the automated answering system and for return calls to ensure service has been restored.

The City of Alcoa Electric Department appreciates the patience shown as personnel continue to work around the clock to make repairs and restore utility service.
