The City of Alcoa Development Services Department was informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) of an upcoming road closure set to start on August 17 as part of the ongoing TDOT Alcoa Highway Relocation Project. Cusick Road will be closed between Cusick Connector Road to National Drive, with a detour 
route in place utilizing Cusick Connector Road and S. Singleton Station Road. The work is expected to last one week, with a projected opening on Sunday, August 24.
The City of Alcoa advises motorists to allow additional travel time if using this route and to use extra caution when traveling through the area as workers will be present.
