Personal Achievements
Commissioner Josh Blair is a Blount County native who graduated from Heritage High School in 1997. He attended both Pellissippi State and Maryville College. In 1999 he began his career in law enforcement as a reserve deputy for the Blount County Sheriff’s office. In 2001 he accepted a full-time position with the Townsend Police Department where he served until December 2004. At that time he returned to the Blount County Sheriff’s office where he has served in many capacities. He was promoted to his current position of Academy Training Director and Lieutenant Supervisor of Training in.
He is married to Bethany and has two daughters, Evie, and Macie, who attend Alcoa Schools. In 2013 Josh and family moved to Alcoa for the schools and the strong sense of community. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching softball, traveling, camping, and classic cars. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Haven House.
